Laynee Gilbert, M.A., is a mom, counselor and writer, with Silicon Valley tech experience as well. She was a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in private practice for the first half of her professional life, before transitioning to the tech world and raising her daughter. Her next book, I Remember You: A Grief Journal, was initially published by HarperSanFrancisco in 1995. When the first run of the grief journal sold out, Laynee founded L.O.A. Precious Companion: A Book of Comfort and Remembrance After the Loss of a Pet; Pass It On: Ultimate Reflections on Life and Death; and So What: A Single Mom’s* Guide to Staying Sane in the 21st Century (*Not just for single moms) followed. Over the years her books have reached tens of thousands of individuals, counselors, veterinarians, hospices, and other care-giving organizations. Today, Laynee has expanded L.O.A. Publications to provide freelance copyediting and proofreading services, and she is available as a writing coach and a life coach as well.
