Laynee Gilbert, M.A.
Laynee Gilbert, M.A., was in private practice as a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist for 20 years before transitioning to management roles in the information technology field. Laynee’s first book, The Complete Dream Journal, was published by Pomegranate Artbooks in 1992, and remained in print by Pomegranate for 20 years. Her next book, I Remember You: A Grief Journal, was initially published by HarperSanFrancisco in 1995. When the first run of the grief journal sold out, Laynee founded L.O.A. Publications and began self-publishing in order to meet continuing demand. Precious Companion: A Book of Comfort and Remembrance After the Loss of a Pet; Pass It On: Ultimate Reflections on Life and Death; and So What: A Single Mom’s* Guide to Staying Sane in the 21st Century (*Not just for single moms) followed. Over the years her books have reached tens of thousands of individuals, counselors, veterinarians, hospices, and other care-giving organizations. Today, Laynee has expanded L.O.A. Publications to provide freelance copyediting and proofreading services, and she is available as a writing coach and a parent coach as well.
